Acupuncture is an essential part of the system of Chinese medicine, which has been in use for the past +2000 years. This system includes acupuncture, chinese herbology, body work, dietary therapy and exercises based on principles of Chinese philosophy.

Acupuncture is the insertion of sterile thread-like needles into points along meridians that run thru out the body. The points are chosen from a complex diagnostic system that includes taking the pulses and looking at the tongue. Each person as a whole is diagnosed and treatment is always specifically tailored to how they present at the time of treatment. The insertion of needles into acupuncture points regulates and restores balance by affecting the subtle energies of the body.

Acupuncture is safe, only sterile disposable needles are used. Acupuncture is not like receiving an injection. The needles have a much smaller diameter, about the size of human hair, and are not hollow. Insertion by a skilled practitioner should be performed without discomfort. Most people find treatments to be very relaxing and enjoyable. The experience often provides a sense of well-being.
